Serious Assaults and Drug Trafficking

On Monday 17 February 2014 Launceston CIB and Drug Squad detectives searched a residence in Neika Avenue West Launceston and at the same time a residence in Robin Street Newstead in relation to drugs and a number of serious assaults.

Death of Danish tourist investigated

Tasmania Police will prepare a report for the Coroner in relation to the death of a 26 year old man at Oatlands today, 17 February 2014.

Bush Walker Rescued – Bruny Island (16-Feb)

A call for assistance was made by a female Chinese bush walker in the Fluted Cape area of Bruny Island on Sunday afternoon. The walker had set off earlier in the day but had become disorientated in dense bushland from the Slide Walking Track at Adventure Bay.

Firearm Incident – Bridgewater (15-Feb)

Approximately 4pm Saturday 15 February 2014 a Bridgewater youth received minor injuries as a result of a firearm incident.

Structure Fire – St Johns Church, Glenorchy

At 2206hrs on Friday the 14th February, 2014 Tasmania Fire Service were called to a structure fire at 64 Bowden Street, Glenorchy. The premises is a playgroup centre and is owned by St. Johns Church.

Arrest of Male – East Devonport (14-Feb)

About 6.30pm Friday 14 February Devonport Police, acting on information received, intercepted a vehicle in the car park of the Argosy Hotel in East Devonport.

Victim Sought In Alleged Assault

Police are investigating an incident which occurred outside licensed premises of Ivory Lounge Bar, Collins Street, Hobart at approximately 4:45am on Sunday 16th February 2014.

Motor vehicle crash – Brooker Highway, Berriedale

On Tuesday 11 February 2014, approximately 2.20pm, police attended a motor vehicle crash on the Brooker Highway at Berriedale, involving a white Toyota van. Police received a number of calls from members of the public, regarding a physical altercation between the parties involved.

At approximately 2pm on Friday, 7 February 2014, a 25 year woman was located on the side of Ford Road, Pontville in a disorientated and upset condition.
