21 new constables join Tasmania Police

Tasmania Police has welcomed 21 new constables into its ranks today at its graduation ceremony at the Tasmania Police Academy.
Commander Damien George said the 15 men and 6 women come from a range of backgrounds and life experiences and are a welcome addition to Tasmania Police.
“The new constables bring with them a wide range of skills and life experience. Some are beginning their career with Tasmania Police after previously working in a trade, while others are transferring from a career in customer service, as a personal trainer, a security guard and a lifeguard.”
“Prior to commencing recruit training, five of the graduating constables have been working as radio dispatch operators, where they gained firsthand experience to the various range of incidents attended by police.”
“They have made the decision to join Tasmania Police alongside the 40 recruits currently in training and 44 more recruits who will commence their training in early January”
The graduates will be on the job at stations across the state, with 6 going to Northern District, 7 to Western District and 6 to Southern District.
“We are proud of all they have achieved during their training and we are looking forward to supporting them further throughout their career.”
