At 7.40am this morning, units from Tasmania Police and the Tasmania Fire Service attended a structure fire at Langura Avenue, Chigwell.

The fire was extinguished, with minimal structural damage being caused to the home.

The house is privately owned and there was one person at the address at the time of the fire. This person is currently being treated for smoke inhalation at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

A 36 year old Chigwell man has been charged with Arson in relation to the fire, he has been bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
