Officers from a task force today charged a 27 year man with charges relating to two incidents from Thursday 13 May 2010.

The first incident relates to the alleged attempted murder of a female officer conducting traffic operations on the Brooker Highway in the early hours of the 13 May.

The second incident concerns the alleged armed robbery of the Claremont Newsagency later in the morning of the same day.

The man was charged today with – Attempted Murder in relation to the first incident and Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault in connection with the second matter.

He will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are on-going and police expect to make further arrests in the near future.
