Four drink drivers and numerous other traffic offences were detected in a joint operation between Glenorchy Police and Southern Road Policing Services last night.

Acting Sergeant Kristy Eyles said police caught some unlicenced drivers, found several unregistered vehicles and numerous vehicle defects (including non-working headlights) as well as the drink drivers.

“At any time of year this would be disappointing, but it is especially so during the festive season.”

“Operation Safe Arrival began at midnight, and police will be out focusing on keeping people safe on our roads.”

“Do not drink drive.”

“Plan ahead and arrange a safe way home.”
