Hayes escapee apprehended
Detectives from the Eastern District Criminal Investigation Branch have apprehended the Hayes Prison Farm escapee, Brody James JARVIS. Jarvis was apprehended at approximately 11am today at a residence at Lenah Valley, as part of a police search at that residence. Jarvis will be returned to the custody of the Tasmania Prison Service. An adult male has also been arrested in relation to ‘harbouring an escapee’ in relation to Jarvis and will appear in court at a later date.
Detectives are still conducting enquiries and searches in relation to the other escapee:
- Paul Frazer CATTO, 30 years of age, 176cm tall, 60kg, short dark brown hair with fair complexion. Last seen wearing a dark baseball cap and dark clothing.

Both escapees were discovered missing by prison staff at 8pm on Saturday 16 July 2011 and have been seen at various locations in the greater Hobart area since this time.
Paul Frazer CATTO is not considered dangerous, but police advise the public not to approach him. Investigators are seeking the assistance with information from the members of the public to locate CATTO. Information can be provided to investigators by contacting Tasmania Police on 131 444, or Eastern District Detectives on 6230 2318. Information can be provided anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Family, friends and associates of Paul Frazer CATTO are asked to encourage him to present himself to police to facilitate his return to the Tasmanian Prison Service.
