High range drink driver caught in George Town
Police have charged a 63-year-old man with drink driving offences after they were provided information by members of the public relating to his manner of driving.
The man, who was towing a large caravan, was intercepted by police on the East Tamar Highway at George Town about 12.45pm yesterday and was arrested and taken to George Town Police Station where he returned a breath analysis reading of 0.208, four times the legal limit.
The man has been disqualified from driving for a period of 24 months and was bailed to appear in the Launceston Court of Petty Sessions at a later date.
