Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in her 30s in Hobart yesterday.

Police were called about 4.30pm after a passerby saw a body in the Hobart Rivulet, near Molle Street.

The scene remains closed. Police are keeping an open mind as to the cause of death and further investigations are underway including deployment of police divers and door knocks.

Police have identified the woman and are in contact with her family.

Anyone with information about this matter, or who saw a woman in her early 30s in the rivulet area between Molle Street and Warneford Street on the afternoon of Friday 26 September is asked to contact police on 131 444.
