Kingston Burglaries

Kingston Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating a burglary committed at Banjo’s Bakery, Margate, which occurred overnight Sunday night to Monday morning.  Thieves entered through the roof and stole a small safe containing a substantial amount of cash.

Police are investigating whether this burglary may be linked to several other burglaries of small businesses in Kingston overnight 22-23 October 2012.  Similar burglaries have also occurred on the Eastern Shore and Hobart in past weeks.

Police are reminding business owners to bank excess cash promptly, and be vigilant regarding security.  It is recommended alarm systems are regularly tested and an upgrade considered if the system is older.
