Motorcyclist killed in crash on Tasman Highway

Sadly, a 65-year-old man from southern Tasmania has died after a two-vehicle crash on the Tasman Highway, near Triabunna.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene just north of Freestone Point Road, about 11:15am today.

Initial inquiries indicate the man was travelling south on the Tasman Highway riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle when it was involved in a head-on collision with a utility.

The man sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

The sole occupant of the other vehicle, a 55-year-old woman, received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to hospital for treatment.

The Tasman Highway was closed for about four hours while the crash scene was investigated.
