Of concern yesterday were two particular driving offences detected in Burnie and on the Frankford Highway.
The first driver was caught drink driving with a reading of 0.171%, but adding to that concern was that he was already disqualified from driving from a previous drink driving offence.
The second related to a “P” plate driver detected on the Frankford Highway during Operation Crossroads not only exceeding the maximum of 80 km/h that the rider is permitted to do, but was well above the limit for the highway of 100km/h. The rider was detected travelling at 142 Km/h. These were two drivers were crashes waiting to happen which have been prevented by police enforcement over this period.
