Police are urging Assador Mekonen HINSTA, 25 years of age, who resides in either Launceston or Devonport, to contact Launceston Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) to assist them with ongoing inquiries.

Helicopter Medivac – Barn Bluff Hut

At 0800hrs today the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated to medivac a 56 year old Western Australian man from Barn Bluff Hut on Tasmania’s Overland Track. The man had suffered a heart attack.

Theft of Jayco Van – Claremont

Police are seeking assistance in the recovery of a 1980 model Jayco Dove Pop-Top Van (11 feet in length) stolen from the front lawn of a house at Claremont between 8pm on Sunday 27 July 2014 and 6am the following day.

Star and Garter charges

Glenorchy and Bellerive CIB officers have charged a 28 year old Rokeby man with a series of business burglaries across Southern District, including two burglaries at the Star and Garter Hotel, New Norfolk.

Tasmania Police are investigating the report of an aggravated burglary in Strickland Avenue in South Hobart, which occurred around 11.30am this morning. Launceston Man Charged With Murder

A 27 year old man from Youngtown has been charged with one count of murder, by Detectives from the Launceston Criminal Investigation Branch.

Helicopter Rescue – Mount Field

At approximately 3:00pm on Sunday 3/8/14 Tasmania Police Search and Rescue and Ambulance Tasmania received a call for assistance in relation to a 20 year old French man suffering from a medical condition at Mount Field. The man became unconscious during a walk from Lake Dobson to the Lake Seal lookout.

Male Detected at High Speed on Bass Highway

In the early hours of Saturday morning on 2/8/14 a commodore sedan was detected travelling at 170km/h in the 100km/h zone along the Bass Highway near the Stanley turnoff.

Kayak Located Bellerive Bluff – Concern For Welfare

Approximately 7:25am on Saturday the 2nd August 2014 police were alerted to a kayak that had washed up on to the rocks at Bellerive Bluff, Bellerive. There were concerns surrounding the circumstances of the kayak as there was a mobile phone attached to it.
