Serious Motor Cycle Crash – Hollow Tree

At approximately 1.40pm on Sunday the 6 April police and ambulance personnel attended a serious crash on Hollow Tree Road, Hollow Tree. A 52 year old male sustained serious injuries after coming off a red Ducati motorcycle and was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Medivac Deal Island

On Sunday 6 April 2014 the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to attend Deal Island in Bass Strait to airlift a male volunteer on the island who was suffering from a medical condition.

Fatal Crash – Bass Highway – Circular Head

Shortly after 7.00am this morning police were alerted to a single vehicle crash on the Bass Highway at Hellyer Beach, 600 meters west from Pine Avenue.

Clamping of Vehicle Travelling at Excessive Speed

Devonport Police have clamped a vehicle for travelling in excess of 45km/h over the speed limit at Spreyton. The offence took place in the early hours of Thursday Morning.

Male charged with stealing Tamar Sea Rescue Service vehicle

On Thursday the 3rd April 2014, Launceston detectives charged a 23 year old male from Perth with stealing the Tamar Sea Rescue Service vehicle that was recently stolen from Beauty Point.

Fire Incidents at Cygnet

Tasmania Police have charged a 19 year old Cygnet man with two additional counts of unlawfully setting fire to property, related to the fires earlier reported on Monday 31st March 2014.

High speed traffic offender detected on Murchison Highway Yolla

A vehicle being driven by a 28 year old Wynyard man was detected by Police travelling at 168km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Murchison Highway near Yolla at around 10:00am today.

Home Burglary Newnham

Detectives from Launceston Criminal Investigation Branch are currently investigating a house burglary that occurred during the day on Tuesday 1 April 2014 at Newnham.

Fire Incidents at Cygnet

Tasmania Police have charged a 19 year old Cygnet man with Arson following a fire at the Cygnet Tennis Club in Louisa Street overnight. The man will appear in court at a later date.
