Fatal Crash – Midland Highway Powranna (7-Feb)

At about 5.12pm on Friday 7 February 2014 a Mazda sedan travelling north on the Midland Highway at Powranna has crossed the carriageway and collided with a tree. The 33 year old male driver from Hobart has died at the scene.

Single Vehicle Crash – Channel Highway near Margate (9-Feb)

A 43 year old Margate man died as the result of a falling tree branch hitting the cabin of his motor vehicle as he drove along Channel Highway north of Margate at approximately 3.10pm on Sunday the 9th day of February 2014.

At 4.20 pm on Wednesday 5 February 2014, a structure fire was reported at 18 Bounty Street, Warrane.

Heavy Vehicle Crash – Cressy (4-Feb)

At about 6.40pm on Tuesday 4 February 2014 an International Truck towing a trailer load of poppies has failed to negotiate a left hand corner on Green Rises Road, Cressy and has ended up on its side in a paddock.

At 2030hrs today the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated to medivac a 33 year old Vicrorian woman from New Pelion Hut on Tasmania’s Overland Track.

At 1415hrs today the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated to medivac a 23 year old Vicrorian woman from Wineglass Bay on Tasmania’s East Coast.
