Road safety operation Eastern District
Tasmania Police Eastern District Traffic Services conducted several road safety operations in the past two days. While police wish to commend the majority of road users for the responsible manner in which they use the road, there were several notable exceptions.
Bass Highway crash, Deloraine
At 9.21am on Thursday the 9th of August 2012 police were performing duties diverting traffic away from a truck crash when a utility failed to observe the police vehicle or the directions of a police officer and collided with the rear of a police car.
Heavy vehicle crash Bass Highway
At about 6.29 am on Thursday 9th August 2012, a crash has occurred on the Bass Highway, at the easter end of the overtaking lanes, just west of the Meander River overpass.
Deliberately lit house fire
Approximately 8pm on Thursday 9th August 2012, Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service were notified of a house fire at Scott Road in Bridgewater.
