Arson Charges Laid

Launceston CIB have charged a 32 year old Longford woman with arson, following the fire at Goose Green Place, Longford.

Police officer suspended

A police officer serving at Wynyard station will be proceeded against by summons for assault and driving offences.

The officer has been suspended from duty until the matters are resolved.

Offensive behaviour at Coles Beach, Devonport

Police have recently received a number of complaints relating to people exposing themselves and engaging in obscene activity in the area of Coles Beach, Devonport.

Helicopter rescue at Craycroft River

At approximately 5:30pm on 2/2/11, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) activated the Westpac Police Rescue Helicopter due to the activation of a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB).

At approximately 7.35pm on Wednesday evening, a residence in Fraser Street Rosebery was engulfed in flames.

At approximately 8:45pm on Wednesday the 2nd February 2011 there was a structure fire at 46 Charles Street, Orford.

High speed driver intercepted

At about 6pm on Saturday evening of the 29th January 2011, traffic police on the Midland Highway detected a northbound white 2003 Mercedes C180K sedan travelling at a speed in excess of 180 kph in the 110 kph zone.
