Tasmania Police acting on international student safety
Tasmania Police has implemented many measures to assist student safety. Acting Assistant Commissioner Colin Little, provided a statement to The Mercury newspaper on Thursday July 29 in response to a journalist’s questions.
Deceased male confirmed as missing person
On Thursday 29 July 2010, police confirmed that a deceased male was located at the base of a cliff at the bottom of Mirramar Park, Kingston.
Deceased male youth located
Shortly after midday today, Police located the body of a male youth at the base of a cliff below Mirramar Park, Kingston.
Security warning for Northern businesses
Tasmania Police have increased patrols in response to a recent rise in the number of business burglaries in George Town, Scottsdale and Bridport.
Attempted murder charge
Officers from a task force today charged a 27 year man with attempted murder in relation to an incident on the Brooker Highway in May.
Missing Person – Dean Causby
Kingston Police are seeking information regarding the whereabouts of Dean Andrew Causby, aged 17, of Blackmans Bay.

Overnight on Saturday the 24th July 2010 the Risdon Vale Primary School was entered and a number of laptops stolen.

Police in the North West have warned people to be alert for a scam involving a caller claiming to be a computer technician.
Commander appointments
Tasmania Police has announced the promotion of two Inspectors to the rank of Commander, and their postings. Commander Richard Cowling will head the Northern District, while Commander Lauchland Avery will be in charge of the Western District.
CBA robbery – information sought
Police investigating the armed robbery of the Commonwealth Bank at Westbury have recovered a stolen motor vehicle believed to have been used in the robbery.
