Charges laid after firearms incident in South Hobart
Update:
Police have charged a 25-year-old man after a firearms incident at Syme Street, South Hobart overnight.
As a result of investigations by detectives from South East CIB, a 25-year-old man from South Hobart was arrested this morning and has since been charged with commit an unlawful act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, aggravated assault and other firearms-related offences.
He will appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (January 13).

Earlier: A person is in custody after a firearms incident in Syme Street, South Hobart in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to a residence in Syme Street just before 1.20am, after reports of a disturbance in the area.
A short time later, police were called to the Royal Hobart Hospital where a 17-year-old man presented with a gunshot wound to his back.
Detectives from South East CIB arrested a man this morning and he remains in custody and is assisting police with their enquiries.
A crime scene was declared at an address in Syme Street, and police remain at the scene.
A shotgun has been recovered by police.
The victim has undergone surgery, and remains in a critical, but stable condition in Royal Hobart Hospital.
