On 12 October 2011, a Senior Constable from Launceston was stood down from duty on full pay pending an investigation into information he provided to investigators in relation to the Devonport shooting incident on 8 October.  

On 18 October 2011, the officer was suspended until further notice, also on full pay.

The officer was off duty at the time of the Devonport incident.

Professional Standards is investigating the matter, including whether an offence may have been committed.

It is inappropriate to make any further comment at this time given that the matter is under investigation.
