An operation is underway this evening to rescue a group of 4 walkers at Cradle Mountain National Park.

Emergency services were contacted about 3.30pm this afternoon by another walking party, who found the group in difficulties and suffering from the cold. The group are international tourists.

Weather conditions are extreme and preventing a helicopter deployment. Police Search and Rescue members, SES, PWS and Ambulance Tasmania are walking in to locate the group.
