Search for teen missing on King Island
A search operation is continuing on King Island for a local teenager missing since late Friday night.
Lusian West, 16, (pictured), was last seen in the area of Haines Road and Martha Lavinia Beach Road, shortly before midnight. He was with company when he walked away from a parked vehicle, and has not been seen since.
There is dense bushland in the vicinity of the last sighting and there are concerns for the teenager’s welfare.
Lusian is about 180cm tall (5’11), slim build, black hair and a thin moustache. He was believed to be wearing navy blue shorts, navy blue/black puffer jacket and tan Blundstone boots.
King Island police and members of the local community conducted searches of the area on Saturday.
That search effort continues today with the addition of Tasmania Police Search and Rescue officers from Western Division and Tasmania State Emergency Service volunteers from King Island.
Tasmania Police will also conduct aerial searches of the area in the island’s north using helicopter resources.
If you have seen Lusian, or know of his movements in the past 48 hours, please contact King Island Police on 131 444.
