Preparing for a Police Career (UTAS)

Interested in policing? Get ready with the new UTAS unit called Preparing for a Police Career, commencing in late May 2014.

And there are no HECS fees!

Preparing for a Police Career is an intensive nine-week academic unit aimed at providing key foundational knowledge and skills to prepare students for entry into a policing career.

Students will gain a greater understanding of contemporary roles of police officers and policing while building awareness of the day-to-day challenges and activities of a modern police service.

You’ll also begin the process of building valuable self-awareness, communication, teamwork and leadership skills required in the 21st century for policing and a wide range of occupations.

UTAS, Faculty of Arts, is pleased to be able to offer Preparing for a Police Career to domestic students with a 100% tuition fee scholarship, meaning there are no HECS unit fees.

Please note that while completion of this unit may assist you with any future applications to join a police service, or other occupations, it does not guarantee preferential selection.
