Congratulations to our Marine and Rescue team on winning the Pride of Australia Medal for Heroism.

Braving swells of up to six metres and 70-knot winds, the Tasmania Police marine division rescued three crew members from the fishing boat Jensanette off Maatsuyker Island, in January this year.

While such acts may not always receive the recognition they deserve, it should never be underestimated the lengths this team goes to, putting their lives at risk, often at odd hours and under severe weather conditions, to rescue those in danger. – Pride of Australia 2014.
