Motor cycle seized after high speed incident

A 29 year old Deloraine man has had his motorcycle seized and charged with a number of traffic offences after he was detected travelling at more than 200kmh.

 

On Wednesday 25 September, members of Northern Road and Public Order Services detected a 29 year old Deloraine man riding a white Suzuki motorcycle west on the Meander Valley Highway between Launceston and Westbury.

 

The motorcycle was detected travelling at more than 200kmh between Carrick and Hagley.

 

The rider allegedly evaded police at Westbury but was located and arrested a short time later.

 

His motorcycle has been impounded by police for 28 days.

 

The rider was bailed to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on November 20 charged with evading police, speeding and other traffic related offences.
