Tasmania Police is aware of posts on social media sites that there has been an incident of looting in areas affected by the bushfires.

There have been no reports to police about any such incidents, and there has been no evidence to date of looting of property.

Any incidence of looting would be taken extremely seriously by police, and anyone with information is urged to report it immediately.
