Murder of Simon Crisp – Marrawah – One Year

Simon Crisp was murdered at the rear of the Marrawah Tavern in the early hours of Saturday 13 July 2013. His death has been the subject of an intensive Police investigation since that time. Sunday marks one year since his death.

The Tasmanian Government has approved a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Simon Crisp.

There has been no new information received since the reward was announced however there are persons who remain of interest to Police investigating the crime.

Detective Inspector Robert GUNTON said:

‘The investigation into the murder of Simon CRISP is open and ongoing and will remain so until the matter is resolved and the person or persons responsible are brought before the court.’

‘I reiterate that investigators believe that others are aware of those responsible for the murder of Simon Crisp and the circumstances surrounding it. It may be that their personal situation to date has not permitted them to contact police.’

‘We are confident that with the passing of time and changes in personal circumstances will enable someone to provide the information required to finalise this case.’

Payment of the reward, or any portion thereof, shall be at the sole discretion of the Commissioner of Police.
