Recovery of Blue Tongue Lizards – Stolen from University of Tasmania

This morning Detectives from Hobart CIB have recovered a number of Blue Tongue lizards at an address in Mount Nelson.

The lizards have subsequently been identified as the lizards taken from the University of Tasmania on the weekend. Another two blue tongue lizards were recovered yesterday afternoon after police were contacted by a member of the public who had innocently taken possession of those lizards. These were also identified as being lizards taken from the University.

Police have charged two Mount Nelson men, aged 19 and 20, for Burglary and Stealing.

The men will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.

Police wish to thank the public for their assistance and information that they provided in respect of the theft of the lizards.
