Exposure incidents at Bellerive Beaches

Police are conducting extra patrols of the Bellerive beaches from the Fort on the Bluff to Salacia Avenue, Howrah Beach Sand Dunes after reports of indecent exposure incidents.

On four separate occasions between 28 February and 26 May, women walking by themselves have reported that a man has called out to them, exposed and pleasured himself in front of them.  The reported incidents have occurred between the hours of 2pm and 6pm. 

The man is reported to be approximately 170 – 180cm in height, of average build and between the ages of 25 and 40.

On all reported occasions the women have ignored the man, kept their distance and walked away.

Police are reminding any users of the beaches to walk with a partner or group if possible and always carry a mobile phone when walking alone. If approached retain your confidence, tell the man to walk away loudly and clearly, repeat your request if necessary.
