Dangerous Driving Midland Highway

Between 9am and 3pm on Saturday 31/5/2014, Police received several reports from motorists of a silver Mazda 323 hatch registered number EU0268 travelling at high speed and driving in an erratic manner on the Midland Highway.  The car was travelling north in the morning to Launceston from Bridgewater and later travelling south.

As a result of information from the public, the vehicle was detected at Brighton at around 3.30pm travelling at almost 200km/h.  The male driver evaded attempts by Police for interception and was later located at a Herdsmans Cove address.

A 30 year old Herdsmans Cove man was arrested by police and charged with Evade Police, Disqualified Driving, Dangerous Driving, Speeding and property offences. The vehicle in question was confiscated by police until the conclusion of any proceedings.
