Police are currently investigating the theft of firearms from a private residence in Newstead. It is believed that the theft has occurred sometime within the past week.

Stolen in the burglary were a .250 rifle and a .45 home made percussion firearm. Both firearms were registered.

Police would like to hear from anyone with information relating to the burglary, or anyone who has knowledge of someone who has come into possession of any firearm.
