Tasmania Police attended the scene of a single vehicle crash on Lake Leake Road, late on Friday night.

Investigations suggest that the crash occurred at 11:30pm on Friday 14 July, when a white Holden Rodeo utility, lost control on a sweeping left hand bend of Lake Leake Road.

The vehicle has veered onto the incorrect side of the road and entered onto a gravel verge, before colliding with a large tree. As a result of the crash extensive damage was caused to the vehicle.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 59 year old man from the Lake Leake area was killed instantly.

Tasmania Police are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
