A 33-year-old Flowerdale man is assisting police following a request for assistance in relation to a crash involving an ambulance from Ambulance Tasmania and another vehicle early this morning.

About 7:40am police received a call from the man who believed he may be the other driver involved in the hit and run at Somerset.

After providing a statement, the man will be issued with a summons to appear in the Burnie Magistrate Court at a later date.
