The aim of the Adopt-A-Cop program is to enhance the rapport between police officers and children.

The Adopt-A-Cop program provides primary schools with access to designated police officers who, after a period of time, can be formally adopted by the school community as their own.

The adopted police officer can conduct presentations and promote discussions on a wide range of topics, including road and personal safety, stranger awareness, police and the law, or any other appropriate topic after consultation with the school.

Presentations focusing on risk taking behaviour and the consequences to themselves and the community and the need for making good decisions are also available.

For further information, or to have your school involved in the Adopt-A-Cop program, please contact your local District Community Policing section.

A Tasmania Police Colouring Book is available for download as a resource for teachers, carers and parents. The colouring book includes pictures of police cars, motorcycles, helicopters and boats.  >> Download: Tasmania Police Colouring Book (.pdf 2.8MB)
