The final report of results from the 2023 Tasmania Police Community Survey has now been received.
In November 2023, Tasmania Police reached out to the community to get feedback on local crime and safety concerns, police performance and other issues. More than 4000 responses were received from across the state.
Thanks again to everyone in the community who took part by providing feedback or sharing the survey with their family and friends.
We recognise the importance of trust in Tasmania Police – the confidence of our community is integral to our role. It’s been gratifying to hear directly from the community.

Whats next?
We are taking the time to further analyse what we have heard through the survey and we are working towards putting community policing measures in place which help address feedback and concerns raised. We will keep you informed about initiatives as they develop.
There are a few initiatives underway already that will address issues our community has identified as important, this includes:
- The new Tasmania Police Reporting Dashboard.
- The dashboard provides transparency with a crime, road safety and other statistics available to the public.
- We have proactively released the Weiss Independent Review into former police officer Paul Reynolds; and
- The Independent Review into Surveillance Devices will also be publicly released and tabled in State Parliament
