Vehicles destroyed by Fire

VEHICLES DESTROYED BY FIRE IN GLENORCHY DIVISION

Detectives from Glenorchy CIB are currently investigating a series of vehicle fires that occurred within the Glenorchy policing division between 8:00pm and 9:30pm on Sunday 27 April.

A total of 5 motor vehicles were destroyed by fire, two in the Lutana area and three in the suburb of Glenorchy.  Investigations reveal another attempt was made to set fire to a vehicle in Coleman Street, Glenorchy.

The owners of the vehicles were not known to each other and the exact motive for the vehicle fires is yet to be established.  Police have identified suspects in relation to these incidents.

Police would like to speak to any members of the public who may have knowledge of the vehicles set alight in Lutana or Glenorchy on Sunday evening or vehicles/persons acting suspiciously in those areas.  Any information can be provided to Crime Stoppers or Glenorchy CIB.

Members of the public are reminded of the need to ensure vehicles are locked and valuables removed from plain sight.  If persons or vehicles are observed acting suspiciously the public is encouraged to contact police on 131 444.
