At 2:30pm on Tuesday 2/12/14 the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated to attend a serious motor vehicle crash on the Marlborough Highway approximately 2 kilometres north of Bronte Park.

The crash occurred when a vehicle with 4 occupants left the gravel section of road and rolled down an embankment.

The driver, a 20 year old woman from Devonport, and a 13 year old girl from Queensland were airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Their injuries were serious but not life threatening.
