Detectives from Bellerive CIB are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding an assault reported at Risdon Prison yesterday.

At about 5:00pm yesterday, a 26 year old male prisoner was allegedly assaulted. He was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital and is listed in a serious but stable condition.

Bellerive CIB are now investigating the incident with the assistance of Corrective Services staff.
