Around 10.30pm on Friday 14 May 2021 Police and Tas Ambulance attended a report of a serious assault that occurred outside the Cygnet Hotel, Mary Street Cygnet.

A male person was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital where he was admitted.

On Saturday 15 May 2021 Police conducted a search warrant at a Cygnet address and arrested two male persons in relation to the assault.

Both males were charged with Criminal Code assault.

They have been detained in custody and will attend an after-hours Court on Sunday 16 May 2021.
