Attempted Armed Robbery – Moonah

At about 3:45pm on Saturday 7 July 2020 a male and female entered the Caltex Service Station, Main Road Moonah. The male approached the attendant and threatened him with a wooden baton, smashing a Perspex partition.  The attendant was able to secure himself in an office and contact police.

The male and female fled the scene empty handed.  Police responded immediately and searched the area for the offenders.

As a result of enquiries made, Police apprehended the male and female at about 8:15pm at an address in Glenorchy.  The male is a 16 year old Glenorchy youth and the female is a 35 year old Glenorchy resident.

Both were charged with attempted aggravated armed robbery and detained to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on the morning of the 5 July 2020.

The attendant was not physically harmed in the incident.
