Bridgewater youth charged over dangerous driving incident

A 15 year old male youth has been charged with dangerous driving in Hobart’s northern suburbs yesterday.

 

The matter relates to stolen blue Yamaha motorcycle observed being ridden dangerously on northern suburbs roads on Saturday.

 

Members from Operation Saturate and Southern Road and Public Order Services attended a West Moonah address early this morning as a result of information received.

 

Police allege the youth attempted to flee on police attendance however was arrested.  The stolen blue Yamaha motorcycle was also recovered at that address.

 

The youth was interviewed by members of Operation Saturate and Glenorchy CIB and charged with:

  • Stealing x 2
  • Motor Vehicle Stealing x 3
  • Computer Related Fraud x 1
  • Evade Police (Aggravated Circumstances) x 2
  • Drive while disqualified (Vehicle and Traffic Act) x 5

 

Police allege the offences were committed within Hobart, Glenorchy and Bridgewater Divisions during the past 7 days.

 

The youth will appear in the Youth Justice Court tomorrow.
