Call for witnesses following a motorcycle crash at Bridgewater

Tasmania Police is seeking witnesses following a motorcycle crash on Taylor Crescent, Bridgewater around 7:50pm last night where an unregistered trail bike collided with a pole.

The 16-year-old rider from Bridgewater wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital with leg injuries by Ambulance Tasmania.

Police are seeking information about a second vehicle which may have been involved in the crash.

“We’d like to remind the public that the use of unregistered trailbikes are not permitted and they shouldn’t be used in public places. It’s for everyone’s safety,” said Senior Constable Despina Amerikanos from Southern Road and Public Order Services.

“We’d also like to remind people of the importance of wearing a helmet and the appropriate safety gear as they can help to save lives.”
