Two people have been charged over a series of incidents in the Ouse area yesterday.

Police were called shortly before 1am on Monday (7 September), after the pair allegedly attempted to enter a business before gaining entry to a nearby convenience store and stealing a quantity of cash before leaving the scene.

Attending officers located a vehicle believed to be linked to the incident, after it had crashed into an embankment on the Lyell Highway a short time later.

An Ouse resident then reported two people had entered his property and attempted to steal an ATV about 3.15am. The resident received minor injuries to his face during the incident, but did not require medical attention.

A 21-year-old woman from Franklin and a 26-year-old man from Kingston were taken into custody shortly before 4am, after they were located by patrolling police walking along Ellendale Road.

The woman was charged with multiple offences including attempted aggravated armed robbery, wounding, burglary, stealing, attempted burglary, trespass as well as resisting police and other drug and firearms charges.

The man was also charged with multiple offences including attempted aggravated armed robbery, wounding, burglary, stealing, attempted burglary, trespass and other driving and bail-related offences.

The pair will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court today.
