At about 12.30 1st January 2016 Police attended the scene of a crash on the Bass Highway, Heybridge.

A silver Subaru Station Wagon travelling in a westerly direction appears to have lost control and impacted with the cable safety barrier, travelling for some 150m along the barrier before coming to rest entangled it the cabling.

The two occupants in the vehicle, a man and a woman  were examined by attending Tas Ambulance Officers however both suffered no injuries.

One lane of traffic was closed for some time while Police inspected the scene and the vehicle was removed.

It is not known at this stage what was the cause of the crash however investigations are continuing.
