Detectives Seeking Assistance to Solve Rural Crime

During the early morning of Saturday the 4th of February 2023, a white Husqvarna trail bike was stolen from a property at Bothwell.

The motorcycle was ridden from the scene by a person who was not wearing a helmet at the time.

The stolen motorcycle then travelled in convoy with a white Holden Commodore utility with distinctive front-end damage, with the vehicles being observed travelling south on the Midland Highway at Kempton at 6.23 am.

Motorists travelling on the Midland Highway between Bridgewater and Melton Mowbray around the time are being asked to review any available dash cam footage, particularly anyone who may have passed the motorcycle on the highway travelling in the opposite direction.

The motorcycle was recovered at Granton later that day.

Two men, aged 26 and 19, both of Granton, were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. The men were bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court in March.

Anyone with information about the incident or who may have dash cam footage of the motorcycle, or the utility is asked to contact Bridgewater CIB on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
