Drink Driver Detected with High Reading

At approximately 12.20pm on Saturday 24 December 2022, police detected a 31-year-old Montrose man driving in Channel Court Kingston.

The man returned a positive roadside test and was conveyed to Kingston Police Station for a breath analysis. The male has then returned a reading of .219, which is over four times the legal limit.

The man was disqualified on the spot for 24 months and charged and bailed to attend court.

Sen Sgt Hodge of Kingston Police said:

β€œIt is concerning that this male chose to drive with such an excessive alcohol reading. No excuse provided is acceptable and this male had the potential to be a significant danger on the roads if he had continued to drive.”
