Driver charged with drink driving after returning reading of 0.227 following crash at Launceston
A 27-year-old Kings Meadows man has been charged with drink driving offences following a single vehicle crash on Talbot Road, Launceston, last night.
Police were called to the crash on Talbot Road at approximately 10.50 pm.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was located at the scene and was subjected to a breath analysis, returning a reading of 0.227, which is more than five times the legal blood alcohol limit.
There were no serious injuries and no significant property damage as a result of the crash.
The man was immediately disqualified from driving for 12 months and is scheduled to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court in January 2027.
Police are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed a gold Nissan Navara travelling in the Launceston area around the time of the incident.
