Driver detected almost five times the alcohol limit

A 25-year-old man from Riverside has been charged after he was detected driving with almost five times the legal alcohol limit in the state’s North overnight.

At 11pm last night police responded to reports of white Mitsubishi Magna crashing into a parked car on Riseley Street Kings Meadows and then being driven erratically in the surrounding area.

A breath analysis of the driver returned a reading of 0.233 and he was charged with Driving Under the Influence.

The man was bailed and will appear in court at later date.
