Fatal Single Vehicle Crash at Henty Road, Strahan

Sadly, a 35 year-old woman has died following a single vehicle crash on Henty Road, Strahan approximately 500 metres south of the Henty River.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene about 4:30pm on Saturday 14th January.

Initial inquiries indicate the woman was travelling South on Henty Road in a blue 2012 Nissan Micra when she has failed to negotiate a sweeping left hand bend. The vehicle left the road striking roadside vegetation and colliding with a tree.

The woman who was the sole occupant of the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Airbags fitted to the vehicle were deployed as a result of the impact.

Members of the public were the first on scene and rendered assistance, however, the woman died at the scene prior to the arrival of Tasmania Ambulance Service personnel.
