Firearm discharge – Lambert Street Ravenswood

Tasmania Police are currently investigating a number of shots that were discharged into a unit complex situated along Lambert Street (not far from Faraday Street) at Ravenswood overnight. About 11.20pm on Thursday 11 June 2020, a number of rounds were discharged from a firearm striking the front window of the unit. Damage was caused to the windows and walls of the unit. Although no injuries were reported, a female was inside the house at the time, which is particularly concerning for police.

Police wish to reassure the public that this appears to be an isolated incident and a targeted attack, however Tasmania Police still take these matters very seriously with the matter to be thoroughly investigated.

Members from Launceston Uniform, Northern Criminal Investigation Branch and Northern Forensic Services attended the scene.

If anyone has information that may assist, particularly anyone who saw any persons or vehicles in the area at the time are strongly urged to contact Tasmania Police on 131444.
