Four people charged over $90,000 drug seizure in Launceston

Four people have been charged following the seizure of about $90,000 worth of drugs in Launceston.

 

Members of the Northern Drug Investigation and Launceston CIB executed a search warrant at a Mayfield address on Tuesday 4 December.

 

During the search, police located and seized about 90 grams of methylamphetamine, $12,000 cash, property and five firearms.

 

As a result of this search, police have charged a 28 year old Mayfield man and a 19 year old Turners Marsh woman with trafficking methylamphetamine.

 

A 35 year old Mayfield woman has been charged with selling methylamphetamine and a 33 year old Victorian man was charged with dealing in the proceeds of crime.

 

Further charges are expected to be laid in relation to the seized firearms.

 

All four will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Wednesday 23 January 2019.

 

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is in excess of $90,000.
